TCU women’s basketball lands No. 1 transfer Olivia Miles from Notre Dame

TCU women’s basketball landed the top transfer in the country with a commitment from Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles early Tuesday morning.

A projected top-three pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft, Miles shocked many when she declined to enter the draft and instead hit the portal after leading Notre Dame to the Sweet Sixteen. TCU defeated the Fighting Irish 71-62 in the Sweet Sixteen.

Miles averaged 15.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists last season for Notre Dame. Miles is ranked No. 1 in the portal by many outlets including On3, which first reported the commitment. Miles was voted a two-time AP All-American in 2025 and 2023. She was also voted first team All-ACC three times including this past season.

Miles is the perfect replacement for Big 12 Player of the Year Hailey Van Lith as she can take over the lead guard spot. Just like Van Lith, Miles is comfortable scoring 20 points or dishing out 10 assists in any given night.

With Miles in the fold, TCU could have the best backcourt in the nation with Miles, Maddie Scherr and returning starter Donovyn Hunter.

Miles is the second transfer head coach Mark Campbell has landed. She’ll join 6-foot-7 Kentucky transfer Clara Silva.

It’s the third straight off-season in which Campbell has landed a significant transfer. In 2023 it was landing Sedona Prince from Oregon, Agnes Emma-Nnopu from Stanford and Madison Conner from Arizona.

Last season Van Lith was the big addition from LSU along with Donovyn Hunter from Oregon State and Taylor Bigby from USC. Now you can add Miles to Campbell’s ever-growing impressive list of transfer commitments.

Campbell already led TCU to the best basketball season in program history with an Elite Eight appearance and the program’s first Big 12 regular season and tournament championships. Miles’ commitment ensures that the Horned Frogs will once again be among the nation’s best in 2025.
