Dine out with your doggie at Chadra Mezza & Grill’s "Pooches on the Patio" from 4 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday. The last Wednesday we were there, almost every table on the pleasant patio boasted a cute canine on a leash. Chadra provides water bowls and free doggie treats; for the humans, there are happy-hour drink prices. At 1622 Park Place Ave., Fort Worth; 817-924-2372.

County peaches will be on the menu along with the hamachi and toro Thursday through July 31 at Fort Worth’s Tokyo Cafe, 5121 Pershing Ave. The special peach menu will include tempura peaches; whole fried fish with peach ponzu sauce; and a peach tower with Texas blueberry compote.

Collect a set of barbecue tools in a fitted case on the Way Out Wineries Picnic Road Trip on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The eight wineries stretch from just south of Fort Worth to just north of Austin. Tickets are $55 couple or single and include tastings and a picnic dish at each winery. For details: www.wayoutwineries.org; 325-356-9100.

Winemaker Caris Turpen of Fort Worth’s Lightcatcher Winery is speaking at three sessions of a special Texas wine presentation this week at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. For details: www.folklife.si.edu/festival/2008/Texas/index.html.
