Houston tops the list for deadly bus crashes

Texas had 179 bus crashes from 1997 to 2006 in which at least one person died, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. That is the most recent information available.

Harris County, which includes Houston, had the most crashes, 37. Dallas County had 21. Bexar County, which includes San Antonio, had 15. Travis County, which includes Austin, and Nueces County, which includes Corpus Christi, each had 7.

Tarrant County had 4 deadly crashes that included a bus.
